RigD Announces Beta of Flows and Custom Activities
Announcing the RigD Beta of Flows
Not surprisingly, there are many IT operations and data systems that you would want to integrate to streamline the support session. The RigD crew is planning on providing some out of the box integrations to some key IT Operations and DevOps tools (we are working on creating a Jira ticket activity as we speak). We do know, however, that teams will want to build integrations for activities that go beyond what the RigD crew will build. With this in mind we have launched our Beta of Custom Activities. Custom activities are just like out of the box RigD Bot activities, with the natural language experience (input suggestions) and ability for the Bot to prompt for inputs if they are not given and error handling. The key is the end user goes through a set of RigD steps and RigD builds the activity for them. For now our invocation of custom activities is through a AWS Lambda function. We are working on adding a fulfillment through arbitrary REST API calls. The following images show the creation and build of an activity that will start a Zoom meeting, something very common for support teams to use.
With the image below you get the idea of how a higher performing IT Operations, Support Engineering, or DevOps team could create a set of reusable flows to increase performance.
Here you can see what a flow can look like inside and how our new user experience shows what you can do with buttons as far as updating a flow and ultimately running it from the right context.
